Recap of the Packaging Innovations 2025

Sustainability in Focus

From February 11-12, 2025, ACTEGA exhibited at Packaging Innovations, which took place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. This show provided an excellent opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with experts from the packaging and labels industry, strengthen existing partnerships, and explore new collaborations.

During the two days, the spotlight was on the entire packaging supply chain, offering attendees a glimpse into the latest advancements and future trends. With 6,900 attendees and 450 exhibitors, the exhibition hall was filled with innovation, fostering discussions on sustainability, efficiency, and next-generation packaging technologies.

ECOLEAF's On-Demand Metallization with Whiskey Samples by MCC Labels

One of the key highlights at the ACTEGA booth was the real whiskey market samples produced by MCC Labels, demonstrating the impressive capabilities of ECOLEAF on-demand metallization technology. For the first time, visitors had the opportunity to compare market samples side by side, showcasing different metallization categories. This direct comparison allowed attendees to see firsthand that ECOLEAF not only stands out as a more sustainable alternative but also delivers highly reflective and impactful metallic effects comparable to traditional foiling methods. This sparked great interest among brand owners looking for innovative ways to enhance packaging design and reduce environmental impact. Experts from ACTEGA and MCC Labels were on hand to explain the technology's benefits, such as the elimination of the need for PET carrier film and therefore foil reels as well as a demonstrably better CO2 footprint than traditional methods.

ACTEGAs ACTGreen® and Signite® for Sustainable Packaging

Among the many other highlights at the ACTEGA booth were water-based ACTGreen® barrier coatings for recyclable fibre-based packaging, LED-UV coatings for enhanced visual effects in label printing, and the disruptive Signite® technology for no-label-look decoration. All of these attracted significant attention and drove discussions on the future of sustainable and regulatory-compliant packaging and label solutions.

We sincerely thank all visitors for their interest and valuable discussions, as well as our partner MCC Labels for the great collaboration.
